Darren Collins began serving as the interim head coach of the Midway archery program in the winter of 2024 and will begin his first full season in charge this fall.

His first year with the Eagles was highly successful, as the team finished 13th at the USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals, the program's first ever top-20 finish at the event. He also coached freshman Kelli Booth to an Mid-South Indoor Championship and All-American finish in the fixed pins women's division. Booth is the first Mid-South Conference champion in the history of the archery program and its first All-American in over a decade.

Collins began his coaching career at Harrison County High School in 2016. After starting as an assistant, he moved into the head coaching position in 2017, staying there until 2020. He also serves as a coach for the Central Kentucky Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) program, a position he's held since 2018.

A competitive archer since the age of 10, Collins remains an active participant today, placing in several tournaments across the United States.
