VERSAILLES, Ky. - Four seniors were sent off with a win, as the Midway men's swimming team concluded the home portion of its schedule Saturday.
The Eagles defeated Pikeville (Ky.) 152-46 for their second dual win of the season, while also losing 153-80 to Shawnee State (Ohio).
Midway held a senior day event to honor departing
Luke Logan,
Brad Blanchard,
Jack Logan and
Jacob Williams beforehand.
Two of those seniors had the top-two finishes in the 100-yard freestyle, with
Luke Logan winning in 54.29 seconds, 0.6 faster than Blanchard. Logan was also the runner-up in the 1,650 freestyle, hitting the wall in 19:54.02.
The Eagles got three other wins as well.
Challen Waychoff won the 200 butterfly in 2:24.49,
Jalen Wright won the 200 breaststroke in 2:24.84 and David Roach won the 500 free in 5:28.34.
Daniel Maia was second to Wright in the 200 breast (2:31.77) while also taking second in the 100 breast (1:06.04).
Midway travels to Asbury (Ky.) for a triangle meet that will also feature Anderson University (Ind.) next Saturday at 1 p.m.
