Men's swimming hosts Asbury, WVU Tech

MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway men's swimming hosted Asbury and West Virginia Tech Saturday, losing to the Golden Bears by the narrowest margin.

Asbury defeated Midway 132-93 with Tech edging the Eagles 110-109.

Caique Nunes Maia continued his excellent freshman season with wins in both the 200-yard breaststroke and the 400-yard individual medley.

Nunes Maia finished the 200 breast in 2:17.22 and the 400 IM in 4:37.87.

Jalen Wright got a win for Midway as well, swimming a 1:55.25 in the 200 freestyle.

Wright was also second in the 200 backstroke (2:19.08) while he, Nunes Maia, Daniel Maia and David Roach were second in the 400 medley relay in 3:52.57.

In the 100 back, Daniel Maia swam a runner-up time of 59.53.

Midway travels to Lexington to face Transy and Pikeville next Saturday.
