DANVILLE, Ky. - After opening the outdoor track and field season with a pair of wins,
Austin Ratliff broke his own program pole vault record at the Centre College Invitational on Saturday.
The Eagles only competed in a select few jump events, securing an eighth-place finish in the nine-team field with 20 points. All events were held at Centre's indoor facilty due to flooding.
Ratliff finished second in the pole vault Saturday with a top height of 4.12 meters. Centre's Alex Hibbens was the only vaulter to finish ahead of Ratliff, topping at 4.32 meters.
The senior from Owensboro narrowly beat his previous program record of 4.10 meters,
set during his first-place finish at the River States Conference Outdoor Championships on April 25 of last year.
Midway's other points came via two third-place finishes by
Brayden Carson. Carson jumped a 1.80 in high jump and 5.81 in long jump.
The Eagles will take part in two more events next weekend, starting with the Asbury Invitational on Friday.
