Chris McMillan

Chris McMillan

Chris McMillan was hired as the second head coach in the history of the Midway men's and women's bowling programs on June 7, 2024 and will begin year two of his tenure this spring.

McMillian wasted little time making an impact on the program, earning his first win in his first match, as the Eagle women placed first at the Bulldog Bash in October.

That started another strong campaign by the emerging women's program, which placed two players (Afton Lords, Maggie Coleman) on the Mid-South All-Conference Second Team. The Eagles also qualified for the Itercollegiate Team Championships Sectional Tournament for the second year in a row, placing fifth in the 20-team field. This was a big step up from the previous season, where Midway finished 12th.

On the men's side, McMillian coached Charlie Smith to a Second-Team All-Mid South honor and a 21st-place finish at the ITC Sincles Sectional Qualifier. The Eagles also had a Mid-South Bowler of the Week winner in Ryan Tuite in February.

McMillan comes to the Eagles after spending the 2023-24 season as a graduate assistant coach at his Alma mater McKendree (Ill.) University. In 2017-18, he was a member of a Bearcat team that won an Intercollegiate Team Championship national title.

As a player, he was coached by two-time ITC National Championship-winning coach Dennis Knepper, current Team USA Head Coach Bryan O'Keefe and 28-time USA Bowling gold medal winner Shannon O'Keefe.
