Lynda Stevenson begins her first season as head coach of the cheerleading program at Midway University in 2026-27.
Stevenson brings more than a decade of experience in competitive cheerleading, athlete development, choreography, and program leadership to Midway. She currently serves as the owner and program director of Lex Athletics All Star Cheer and Tumble, where she oversees daily operations, athlete training, staff supervision, fundraising initiatives, and competition preparation.
“We are excited to welcome Lynda Stevenson to Midway University,” said Dr. Heath Morgan, Vice President of Athletics & Student Affairs. “Her extensive experience in all-star cheer, program management, and athlete development makes her an outstanding addition to our athletics department.”
Dr. Morgan added, “We are confident she will provide tremendous leadership for our student-athletes and continue to elevate our cheerleading program.”

During her time there, she coached and choreographed routines for multiple competitive teams while also organizing clinics, tryouts, showcases, and private instruction sessions. Her background includes extensive work in tumbling, stunting, flexibility training, and team development.
A former collegiate athlete and graduate of the University of Kentucky, Stevenson has built a reputation for strong leadership, organization, and relationship-building throughout her career.
“I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to join Midway University and lead the cheerleading program,” Stevenson said. “I look forward to building strong relationships with our student-athletes and helping create a positive, competitive, and supportive culture that represents Midway with pride.”
In addition to her coaching experience, Stevenson has held several leadership and community-focused roles, including her current position as Family Resource Coordinator with Fayette County Public Schools, where she works closely with students, families, and community partners to provide support services and enrichment opportunities.
