(Pittsburgh, Pa.) - Midway's volleyball team made its way to Pittsburgh on Friday night for the first of three games in two days, falling to the Pioneers of Point Park 3-0 (15-25, 19-25, 14-25).
Although the match didn't end in the Eagles' favor, head coach Tripp Swisher and his team had plenty to be proud of againt a tough opponent. Ricky Bowers recorded the best offensive game of her collegiate career, setting a new high in kills with 11, and tallying a team-leading 0.429 attack percentage. Ashley Sherrard continued her outstanding play at the setter position. She contributed four assists to bring her season total to 125.
On defense, Midway put forth a team effort, with three players recording 10 or more digs. ShaKyra Young had 14, Holly Whitworth 10 and Hannah Payne 21. Young, along with Tayler Johnson, contributed 3 blocks.
