MIDWAY, Ky. -- It was announced on Monday, September 9, by the River States Conference office that Brynn Bradley of the Midway University women's soccer team had been named the RSC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for her performance the week of Sept 2-8.
The weekly honor is the first of the season for Bradley, while it also is the first of her career. She also becomes the first Midway player to win the weekly honor this season.
After a big week to open the season, Bradley followed that up with another strong performance in Midway's 5-2 victory over Berea (Ky.) on Saturday, September 7, scoring two goals while assisting on another.
The junior from Nicholasville, Ky. opened the scoring just 1:35 into the contest. She got behind the Berea defense forcing the goalie to come out of goal before making a nifty move and finding herself with an open net in front of her for her fourth goal of the season.
Bradley then assisted on a goal by Regan Snyder (Monroe, Ohio) in the 47th minute before netting her second goal of the game in the 75th minute. She used her quickness to beat the Berea defense and the goalie for her fifth goal of the season.
Following last week's performance, Bradley now has five goals and three assists on the young season. She is leading the RSC in points per game (4.33), points (13), goals per game (1.67), goals (5), assists per game (1.0), and assists (3).
Nationally she ranks fifth in points per game, seventh in assists per game, ninth in goals per game, 14th in total points, 15th in goals, and 35th in total assists.
Bradley has helped lead the Eagles to a 3-0 mark on the season as they return to action on Tuesday night when they travel to Georgetown (Ky.).
