Lange named Assistant Sports Information Director

MIDWAY, Ky. -- Midway University Sports Information Director Dylan Brown has announced the hiring of John Lange as the new Assistant Sports Information Director.

"I am excited to welcome John to Midway University," said Brown. "John brings a wealth of knowledge and experience which will be a great asset to our department. I look forward to working with him in the future."

Lange comes to Midway after a highly successful three-year stint as Media Relations and Tournament Director for Women's Midwest College Hockey. Since its inception in the fall of 2019, the WMCH has emerged as the dominant league in ACHA Women's Division I hockey, having claimed the last four National Championships and both finalists in the National Championship game the past two seasons.

In 2017, Lange was named the Assistant Sports Information Director at Lindenwood-Belleville where he remained until the campus closed after the 2020 academic year. During this tenure, he covered his first individual National Champion when Niauni Hill earned top honors at the 2018 Women's Collegiate Wrestling Association Nationals. The following spring, Lange had the honor of covering his first team National Championship when the Lynx rugby team claimed the USA Rugby Division I-AA 7s National Championship.

In addition to these teams, Lange also served as primary contact for the highly successful Lindenwood-Belleville ice hockey programs. The Lynx men's and women's teams qualified for every national championship they were eligible for and produced three players who went on to play in the professional ranks.

Before his final stint at Lindenwood-Belleville, Lange served in positions at Humboldt State and Austin Peay. He had also served two previous terms with the Lynx.

"I want to thank Rusty Kennedy and Dylan Brown for the chance to join the Midway Athletics family," said Lange. "I am most definitely looking forward to getting to know all the athletes and coaches and helping Midway Athletics reach that next level of success."

From 2009-2011, Lange attended Indiana State University where he earned his Master of Science degree in Recreation and Sport Management. In the spring of 2009, Lange earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Brevard College.

During his time at BC, he also served as Sports Editor of the Brevard College Clarion. His hard work and dedication was rewarded with an honorary varsity letter from Athletics Department at the 2009 Athletics Awards ceremony. Prior to attending Brevard, John played college soccer at Harris-Stowe State University.
