Box Score MIDWAY, Ky. - It was a tough day at the office for the Midway women's soccer team, which got boat raced for five goals in the first 31 minutes, eventually losing 7-1 to Shawnee State in a River States matchup Thursday.
Just 3:01 into the game, the Bears got a Haynna Addy goal of a perfectly placed free kick pass by Robyn Drinkwater. That started a day of shocking efficiency for the Bears, who managed four direct goals off five corner kick attempts.
The Eagles, who were down multiple starters, avoided the shutout thanks to a 61st-minute goal by Anna Kessinger, who scored off a Mariana Casey assist.
Midway falls to 7-5 overall, 4-5 in the River States Conference.
Before they can turn their attention to the RSC Tournament, the Eagles have one last regular season game, where they will host Indiana East on senior day Saturday at 1 p.m.
