MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway was well-represented when the Midwest Sprint Football League announced its All-Conference Team, with six Eagles earning recognition.
Freshmen Matthew Young, Noah Watson and Ja'Quavion Johnson were all First-Team All-Conference selectees, getting nods on offense, defense and special teams respectively.
Young, a running back, finished the year with 339 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. This was highlighted by a 140-yard performance in a 29-26 win over Walsh in the season opener, Midway's first win as a program.
Watson finished the year with 46 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, three pass breakups and an interception from the linebacker position. His best performances was an 11-tackle effort against Bellarmine Sept. 30.
Johnson had 19 tackles on the year, splitting time between linebacker and special teams. He played a major role in the season-opening win at Walsh, where he returned a punt 77 yards for a touchdown and had a fumble recover. He also had a 79-yard kickoff return against Calumet (Ind.) on Oct. 28.
Earning Second-Team honors offensively was sophomore receiver Rudy Loomis, who finished the year with 22 receptions for 319 yards.
Midway also had two members of the Champions of Character team, in sophomore offensive lineman Tyson Thomas and sophomore linebacker Luke Guerrero.
