MIDWAY, Ky. – This past week, the Midway esports team had a lighter schedule thanks to a pair of games being rescheduled for later dates and one forfeit victory. Overall, the Eagles earned a 2-2 record for the week with a 3-1 victory over the University of Georgia in Call of Duty and a forfeit win in Overwatch while Rocket League and League of Legends were both swept in their games.
For the spring term, the Blue and Gold have compiled an overall record of 9-12.
In Rocket League, the Eagles dropped a 3-0 decision to the Ithaca College (N.Y.) while the League of Legends team fell 2-0 to Murray State (Ky.).
Midway earned its first victory of the week in Call of Duty when it picked up a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Georgia. Eagles esports then saw its week close out on Thursday when Overwatch picked up a 3-0 win via forfeit.
The on-screen action heats up this weekend with the Eagles scheduled for eight games. Midway esports opens with a Rocket League battle against Robert Morris (Pa.) before Call of Duty plays against Wisconsin-La Crosse and Concordia-St. Paul (Minn.) in CCL Open Division play.
The CCL Open Division continues on Tuesday, February 28 when the Blue and Gold face off against DePaul (Ill.) and South Dakota. The Call of Duty will play its fifth game of the week on Wednesday, March 1 when it does battle against Texas-San Antonio.
Also on Wednesday night, League of Legends will play against SIUC (Ill.). The busy week comes to a close on Thursday, March 2 when Overwatch takes to the screens against Saint Elizabeth University (N.J.). All Midway esports contests will be streamed at https://www.twitch.tv/midwayuniversity .
