MIDWAY, Ky. - Indiana Kokomo rode a first-half offensive surge to a 3-0 win over Midway in a River States Conference women's soccer matchup in Midway Thursday afternoon.
With the Cougars already up 1-0 late in the first half, Mackenzie Gibbons scored twice in a 1-minute, 28-second stretch, both goals coming off of corner kicks.
Midway's offense was far more aggressive in the second half, getting off multiple clean looks, but none were able to get past Cougar goalie Kailee Moore.
The Eagles fall to 5-6-1 on the season with a 1-2-1 mark in the RSC. They'll be back home Saturday for a noon match against Brescia.
