Women's volleyball gets back in win column with road sweep of ALC

PIPPA PASSES, Ky, - Midway took advantage of a favorable match-up Tuesday, snapping a two-game losing streak with a 25-19, 25-18, 25-17 sweep of Alice Lloyd in River States Conference women's volleyball.

This was the 18th time the two teams have played since 2010. Midway has won all 18, dropping just one total set to their Eagle counterparts.

Midway put together a string of big runs to break early ties in all three sets, completing the win in just under 70 minutes.

The Eagles scored 10 out of 12 points to break open a first set that was tied at 11, a 5-0 run to break a 6-6 tie and a 6-1 run to put the match away after ALC initially tied the set at seven, ending the night on a Meghan Adams kill off an assist by Lindsey Whitehouse.

Midway improves to 9-7 overall and 3-3 in the RSC.

The Eagles have back-to-back conference home games this weekend. They host Indiana East at 7 p.m. on Friday before taking on Brescia on senior day at noon Saturday.
