Preston Moore earns Midway's first MSFL Player of the Week award

MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway punter Preston Moore was named the Midwest Sprint Football League's Special Teams Player of the Week Tuesday, becoming the first Eagle to earn one of the MSFL's weekly honors.

Moore was a model of consistency in the Eagles' 14-0 loss at Oakland City Saturday, placing all five of his punts inside the Midway 20-yard line. His shortest kick of the day was arguably his best, as a 28-yard punt in the first quarter was downed at the Mighty Oak 4-yard line.

Moore, a junior from Allensville, Ky. who doubles as a wide receiver, is averaging 32.4 yards on 12 punts through two games this season. He also got to show off his athleticism in the week one, running for 28-yards on a fake punt to set up a first down in a game against St. Mary of the Woods.

He is the first Midway player to win an MSFL Player of the Week award since the league launched in 2022.

Midway opens the home portion of its schedule on Saturday, hosting nearby Bellarmine at 7 p.m.
