MIDWAY, Ky. - Campbellsville's height was too much for Midway to overcome, as the Tigers earned a 25-18, 25-20, 25-16 sweep in a non-conference volleyball matchup at Marshall Gymnasium Tuesday.

Seven of the Tigers' 10 rotation players stood 5-foot-11 or taller and they used that height to their advantage, hitting .365 for the match with four players hitting .500 or better.

The Eagles, whose lone lead was a 4-3 advantage in set one, had their best effort of the night in the second set. After falling behind 11-5, they responded by scoring eight of the next 10 points, pulling even after a 4-0 surge that included three combined kills by Emily Slaughter and Aubry Koester and an ace by Anju Sugiya.

But that would be as close as the Eagles would get to taking the lead again. Kick-started by consecutive kills by Brooke Hager and Cierra Merrick, Campbellsville held a 37-21 edge the rest of the way.

Koester and Slaughter led the Midway attack with 16 and 10 kills respectively, most set up by the 34 combined assists from Marinna Liedle (18) and Paige Miles (16).

Blair Riney added 16 digs for 6-4 Midway, which is right back at it tomorrow night, traveling to face Lindsey Wilson at 7 p.m.
