MIDWAY, Ky. - Indiana Southeast snapped a four-game losing streak at Marshall Gymnasium, sweeping Midway 25-12, 25-22, 25-16 in River States Conference women's volleyball Friday night.
The Eagles had their most competitive set in the second, building up a 10-7 lead on an
Ava Benner kill and
Aubry Kamholz ace on consecutive plays.
The Grenadiers took control and held it much of the remainder of the set, though the Eagles made them work for the final point.
Down 24-18, the Eagles scored four straight points, highlighted by kills from Benner and
Nyla Gaines. Unfortunately, the rally would fall short, as Madison Ramsey clinched the set for IUS with one of her match-high nine kills.
Benner led Midway with five kills while Mayson Delon had seven digs for Midway.
The Eagles are back home at 2 p.m. Saturday, hosting Indiana Columbus at 2 p.m. The team will hold a senior day ceremony roughly 15 minutes prior to the start of the match.
