WILMINGTON, Ohio - Midway's men's and women's cross country teams both ran at the Jenna Strong Cross Country Fall Classic on Friday.
Neither team recorded a final score, as each had just four runners, one less than the required amount for an end tally.
MEN'S RACE
For the first time this season, freshman
Jonathan Kocis was Midway's top performer, finishing the 247-man, 8K race in 65th place with a time of 27:36.5.
Kocis finished one spot and just a half-second ahead of teammate
Carson Milner.
Elsewhere,
Lance Logan was 165th in 30:12.4 and
Noah Hampton was 181st in 30:46.6.
WOMEN'S RACE
For the fifth time in as many races,
Stevie McSorley was the top Midway performer, running a 20:45.8 to place 57th in the women's 5K.
Ariah Egleston came in 88th in a time of 21:40.3. Rounding things out for the Eagles was
Alarra Cobbins in 183rd (27:59.2) and
Mariacamila Navarro in 191st (30:05.9).
The Eagle men and women both have one more race to warm up for the River States Conference Championships. Each will run at the NAIA Appalachian Challenge in Knoxville, Tenn. next Friday.
