LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Carson Milner added a near-record breaking performance to his already impressive junior season resume at the Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday.
Running as an individual in the Men's 8K Blue division, Milner took second in the 416-runner field in 24:48.5. Only Clay Peets from NCAA Division-I St. Bonaventure (N.Y,) was better in a time of 24:12.
In four races this season, Milner has two wins and four top-three finishes. The only runners to finish ahead of him this season are from D-I programs.
Milner,
who broke the program 6K record earlier this season, finished just three seconds shy of the 8K record Saturday. That mark of 24:45 was set by
Jacob Kocis during the 2021 season.
