MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway women's basketball secured a fourth-place finish in a preseason poll of River States Conference coaches released on Wednesday.
The Eagles received 87 vote points, sandwiched between third-place Brescia (100 points) and fifth-place Indiana Southeast (74).
Defending regular-season champion Shawnee State got nine of 12 first-place votes to come in first with 119 points. Rio Grande, the four-time defending RSC Tournament champion, was second with 111 points and two first-place votes.
The remaining first-place vote went to Brescia.
This is the highest the Eagles have been in a preseason poll since coming in second to start the 2022-23 campaign. They were picked to finish fifth each of the last two seasons.
Midway opens 2025-26Â at home against Miami Middletown (Ohio) on Oct. 27.
