VERSAILLES, Ky. - Midway got a split in home triangle meet Saturday, defeating West Virginia Tech 179-27 and losing 145-108 to Asbury.
Josie Briner got wins in the 500-yard freestyle and 200-yard butterfly. She swam a 5:31.85 in the 500 free and a 2:16.43 in the 200 fly.
Briner also won the 400 medley relay with
Kaelynn Martin,
Amber Klose and
Sydney Eastman, the group swimming a 4:15.93.
Other Eagle winners were
Pamela Ramires in the 1,000 free (12:01.44), Martin in the 200 backstroke (2:19.99) and Eastman in the 400 individual medley (5:05.65).
It was a photo finish in the 1,000 free, with Eastman coming in just .05 seconds behind Ramires. Eastman was also second with a 2:44.90 in the 200 breaststroke.
Other runners-up were
Amber Klose in the 100 breast (1:15.37) and the 200 free relay team of Briner, Martin,
Elizabeth Dolberry and Klose (1:46.19).
Midway has another tri match next Saturday, traveling to Lexington to face Transy and Pikeville.
