Esports teams await postseason fates as regular season wraps

MIDWAY, Ky. - Two Esports teams concluded their regular seasons with wins as the Eagles await to see where they will end up in the playoffs.

League of Legends upped its record to 17-2 with a win against the University of Alabama Huntsville on Sunday, and will look to duplicate its postseason success from a year ago, when it won a Southeast Region championships.

Overwatch, which earned a forfeit against Murray State Friday, greatly improved its postseason possibilities by closing the year with eight wins in its final nine matches.

Call of Duty, which won a Parfly Championship in the fall, did not compete this week and currently holds a record of 14-6.

The Eagle Rocket League team concluded a 6-10 regular season on Thursday with a 3-1 loss to Southern Arkansas.

Eagle coach Alyssa Tinker said she expects a postseason bracket to be announced this weekend, but didn't have a specific timeline for when it would be released.
