MIDWAY, Ky. -- After battling 'receiving votes' Campbellsville (Ky.) less than 24 hours ago, the road didn't get any easier for the Midway men's volleyball team as they welcomed 11th ranked Georgetown (Ky.) to Marshall Gymnasium on Saturday.
The Eagles struggled to get anything going against the visitors as Georgetown overwhelmed the home team en route to a 3-0 victory (25-13, 25-11, 25-10).
The Tigers (16-4, 10-1 RSC) tallied 39 kills and amassed a .412 hitting percentage, while holding the Eagles to just 10 kills and a -.091 attacking clip.
Jai'Den Chinnis and
Jaden Alston led the way for the Eagles with three kills apiece, while
Noah Fichter pitched in two kills and four assists.
Lincoln Anderson led the defensive effort from the backrow with six digs, while Chinnis recorded two of Midway's six blocks.
Jordan Daily, meanwhile, added four assists and a block in the loss.
Midway (3-16, 1-12 RSC) is set to return to action on Tuesday, April 1, when they travel to Franklin (Ind.).
Kennedy Mang's squad will go for the season sweep of the Grizzlies after winning the first meeting earlier this year on March 19 in Marshall Gymnasium.
