MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway's
Anthony Passarette has been named Athletic Trainer of the Year for colleges and universities by the Kentucky Athletic Trainers' Society.
"It's a good feeling to be recognized," Passarette said of the award. "(But) it starts with everybody around me. I'm grateful and blessed to work with our coaches, admin, staff, athletic trainers, because if I didn't have their support, I wouldn't be able to do what I need to do."
Passarette, Midway's head athletic trainer, has been with the university since March of 2022. He and assistant trainer
Lilly Clements oversee treatments for all 27 Eagle teams.
"I'm incredibly excited for Anthony to receive Kentucky's Collegiate Athletic Trainer of the Year award," Midway interim athletic director
Heath Morgan said. "He plays a vital role in the athletic department, helping keep 27 teams healthy and performing at their best."
Passarette will officially receive the award in a ceremony hosted by the Kentucky Athletic Trainers' Society in Louisville Friday evening.
