Eagles come in fourth in pair of preseason cross country polls

MIDWAY, Ky. - The Midway men's and women's cross country teams both came in fourth place in a preseason poll of River States Conference coaches. The Eagle women took the spot outright with the men finishing in a tie with Indiana Kokomo.

Midway's women's team earned 71 vote points, four points better than fifth-place IUK. Indiana East was in first with 99 vote points while earning nine of 11 first-place votes.

Shawnee State earned 90 points to come in second while Rio Grande was third with 83. Both teams garnered one first-place vote.

The Midway and Kokomo men both came away with 68 points. In a very tight race at the top, Shawnee State had 95 vote points, edging out the 94 of Rio Grande. The Bears earned six first-place votes to the Red Storm's four.

Indiana East (84 points), got the other first-place vote, coming in third overall.

Midway will begin the 2025 season in Wilmore, Ky. on Aug. 29, running in the Eagle Opener hosted by Asbury University.
