OXFORD, Ohio — Midway University's George Spencer has been named the River States Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week following another impressive week for the Eagles.
Spencer scored four goals across two victories as Midway extended its winning streak to a program-record six consecutive matches.
The senior opened the week by scoring a goal in Midway's 2-0 victory over Kentucky Christian University on Thursday, helping the Eagles open RSC play with a win.
Spencer followed that performance with a historic showing against Boyce College on Saturday. He recorded a hat trick in Midway's 6-2 victory, scoring three consecutive goals to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 advantage.
The hat trick was Spencer's second in just over a week after he also scored three goals in Midway's 10-0 victory over Cincinnati-Clermont on Sept. 25.
With his two hat tricks this season, Spencer has recorded the 12th and 13th hat tricks in program history and became the eighth different player in Midway history to record a hat trick.
Spencer has now scored seven goals over his last three matches and has helped the Eagles win six consecutive games, breaking the previous program record of five set in 2017.
Midway has also gone unbeaten in seven consecutive matches, setting another program record.
Spencer and the Eagles will return to RSC play on Thursday, Oct. 8, when they host Indiana University East at Midway Turf Field.
