Midway falls to Oakland City in RSC Women's Tennis Championships

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Oakland City was too strong for Midway, as the Eagle women's tennis season ended with a 4-0 loss in the championship match of the River States Conference Tournament Saturday morning.

The Mighty Oaks secured the doubles point in just 22 minutes before locking up a conference title with three singles wins in only 52 minutes.

Midway's best showing came at No. 1 singles where RSC Newcomer of the Year Alicia Sanglas Sanglas was in a 5-5, first-set tie with conference Player of the Year Silvia Fernandez de la Pradilla when OCU earned the clinching point.

This marked the fourth season in a row Oakland City defeated Midway in the conference championship round, dropping just one point to the Eagles in those matches.

Midway closes out 2026 with a record of 8-6. The Eagles finished with a winning record for the second-consecutive season.
