Midway Men's Soccer grounded by Knights in shutout

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Midway University men's soccer team was back in action on Wednesday night when they traveled to the 'Hoosier State' to take on Marian (Ind.) in a tune-up match before they begin River States Conference play on Thursday.

It was a tough night for the Eagles (1-4) as the Knights scored two goals in the first half before scoring four more in the second en route to the 6-0 victory.

Midway's offense was unable to create many good chances on offense as they had just six shots with three of those coming on frame. The Knights (4-2-1) had plenty of chances with 23 shots overall including 15 shots on goal.

Collecting two of Midway's shots on frame was senior, Callum Kemp (Lincoln, England). Drew Blaydes (Midway, Ky.) had the other shot on goal, while Max Noel (Paris, France), Jacob Anderson (La Grange, Ky.) and Carlos Pinto (Tonosi, Panama) all had one shot apiece.

Playing the first 78 minutes in goal for the Eagles was sophomore, Andres Ordonez (Guatemala City, Guatemala). Ordonez allowed six goals, but finished with seven saves. Freshman, Hunter Caudill (Winchester, Ky.) played the final 12 minutes in goal and made a pair of saves.

The Eagles will now turn their attention to Thursday when they open River States Conference play by traveling to Ohio Christian University. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. ET in Circleville, Ohio.
