Eagles Open Homestand Against Mighty Oaks

MIDWAY, Ky. – After a three-game road trip to Pennsylvania and Indiana, the Midway University men's soccer team returned home to face off with Oakland City University (Ind.) in River States Conference play.  On the back of four first-half goals, the Mighty Oaks left Midway Soccer Field with a 6-0 victory.

With the loss, Midway stands at 0-13-0 overall and are 0-7-0 in the RSC while the Mighty Oaks improve to 7-5-3 and a conference record of 2-2-3.

Oakland City got on the board early with a goal in the third minute. They added goals in the 32nd, 38th and 43rd minutes to hold a 4-0 lead at halftime. The Mighty Oaks added second-half goals in the 61st and 68th minutes to close out the scoring.

For the contest, Oakland City outshot the Eagles 21-4.  In goal, Tyler Glass (Louisville, Ky.) recorded seven saves for Midway.

Midway men's soccer will continue its current homestand on Thursday, October 20 when it sees Brescia University (Ky.) in a RSC match. Opening kickoff against the Bearcats is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Midway Soccer Field.
