Eagles Drop Home Game To Bearcats

MIDWAY, Ky. – The Midway University men's soccer team continued its three-game homestand on Thursday when it welcomed Brescia (Ky.) to the Midway Soccer Field. Behind five second half goals, the visiting Bearcats picked up a 6-0 victory over the Eagles.

With the loss, Midway stands at 0-14-0 overall and are 0-8-0 in the RSC while the Bearcats improve to 6-8-1 and a conference record of 4-1-1.

In the first half, Brescia controlled much of the action but only got on the scoresheet once with a goal in the 36th minute. The Bearcats then doubled their advantage with a goal in the 48th minute. Brescia added insurance tallies in the 68th, 69th, 70th and 85th minutes to close out the scoring.

For the contest, Brescia outshot the Eagles 20-8. In goal, Tyler Glass (Louisville, Ky.) recorded two saves for Midway.

Midway men's soccer will close its current homestand on Saturday, October 22 when it hosts Fisk (Tenn.). Opening kickoff against the Bulldogs is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Midway Soccer Field with the annual Senior Day ceremony happening just prior to the game.
