Box Score MIDWAY, Ky. – The Midway University men's soccer team concluded its three-game homestand on Saturday when it hosted Shawnee State (Ohio). Unfortunately, five second half goals for the visiting Bears propelled them to a 7-0 victory over the Eagles
With the loss, the Eagles fall to 0-6-0 on the year while Freed-Hardeman improves to 6-1-0.
Neither team was able to find the net for the first 22 minutes until the Bears broke through and made the score 1-0. Shawnee State then doubled its advantage with a goal in the 39th minute.
In the second half, the Bears made the score 3-0 with a goal in the 59th minute. They added insurance tallies in the 67th, 76th, 82nd and 83rd minutes to close out the scoring.
For the contest, the Eagles were outshot 22-4. In the nets, Tyler Glass (Louisville, Ky.) recorded three saves.
Midway men's soccer will open River States Conference play on Saturday, September 24 when it hits the road to take on St. Mary of the Woods (Ind.). Opening kickoff from West Terre Haute, Indiana is slated for 4 p.m.
