Eagles Open RSC Home Slate Against Golden Bears

MIDWAY, Ky. –The Midway University men's soccer team started the home portion of its River States Conference schedule on Thursday when it played against West Virginia Tech. A pair of goals in each half provided the Golden Bears with a 4-0 victory over the Eagles.

With the loss, Midway has a 0-8-0 record overall and are 0-2-0 in the RSC while the Golden Bears improve to 7-2-2 and a conference mark of 2-0-0.

WVU Tech opened the scoring in the 7th minute and doubled their advantage with a goal in the 38th minute. In the second stanza, the Eagles' defense battled hard and were able to keep the Golden Bears off the board until the 80th minute. WVU Tech then closed out the scoring with a goal in the 86th minute.

For the game, WVU Tech outshot the Eagles 31-2.  In between the pipes, Bryson Lynch (Evansville, Ind.) recorded nine saves for Midway.

Midway men's soccer returns home on Saturday, October 1 when it hosts Rio Grande (Ohio). Opening kickoff against the Red Storm is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at the Midway Soccer Field.
