MIDWAY, Ky. -- The River States Conference office announced on Monday, April 3, that Blake Kincaid of the Midway baseball team had been named the RSC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for his performance the week of March 27-April 2.
The weekly honor is the first of the season for Kincaid, while it is the second of his career. He previously earned the honor in the 2022 season as he becomes the first Midway baseball player to be named RSC Baseball Pitcher of the Week thus far this season.
Kincaid, a junior from Columbia, Tenn., picked up the honor after turning in his best performance of the season in Midway's series opening win against IU Kokomo (Ind.). He allowed a run in the first inning but followed with six consecutive scoreless frames.
The right-hander scattered five hits and allowed one earned run in his seven innings of work on the mound. He also fanned a season-high nine batters and improved his record to 2-2 this season.
Following his performance from last week, Kincaid has now tossed 42.2 innings and has carded a 4.43 earned run average to go with his 45 strikeouts.
Kincaid's next performance on the bump is expected to come Friday when Midway plays their series opener against Oakland City (Ind.).
