RIO GRANDE, Ohio - The Rio Grande defense was as stingy as ever, as the ninth-ranked RedStorm took down Midway 3-0 in a River States Conference men's soccer matchup Thursday night.

The RedStorm held the Eagles without a shot on goal. This marked the fifth season in a row Rio limted Midway to two or fewer shots on goal. 

If defeat, the Eagles got a solid performance in goal from freshman Connor Vincent, who finished with 14 saves. It was a far cry from a season ago, when the RedStorm scored 14 goals in a shutout win.

Midway is 1-7 overall, 0-2 in the RSC, while 6-1-1 Rio Grande is 3-0 in league play.

The Eagles will go for their first conference win Saturday when they host St. Mary of the Woods at 3:30 p.m.
