MIDWAY, Ky. - In the midst of his best stretch as a college goalie, Midway's Connor Vincent has earned another River States Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award.
Vincent earned the award for the second time this season on Monday, following an excellent week where he saved 15 of 16 shots on goal in two games against Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) and Brescia.
The highlight was Vincent's 11-save shutout against Trevecca, where he keyed the program's first-ever win against an NCAA Division-II program.
Over his last three games, the sophomore from Franklin, Ky. has a save percentage of 0.92, helping Midway to a 2-0-1 record in that stretch. He leads all keepers in the conference and is fourth in the NAIA with 80 saves on the season.
Currently sitting at 1-2-1 in conference play, the Eagles are set to host current conference leader Rio Grande (5-0) at 1 p.m. Thursday.
