MIDWAY, Ky. - Oakland City scored three goals in a 6-minute, 8-second stretch late in the first half and kept Midway off the scoreboard in a 5-0, River States Conference women's soccer match up Thursday afternoon.
With her team already up 1-0, Paulina Osterman had a hand in all three of the Mighty Oak goals to close the half. She assisted on a Linn Adolfsson-Funk goal in the 39th minute, then scored one of her own 2 minutes, 32 seconds later.
Osterman then got another assist when her corner kick pass bounced off of two Midway defenders for an own goal.
Caylee Thompson had nine saves while Anna Kneisley had a team-best four shots for the Eagles, who fall to 4-5-1 overall, 0-1-1 in RSC play.
Midway will hit the road for the first time since Aug. 31 on Saturday, taking on RSC foe Indiana Columbus at 4:30 p.m.
