MIDWAY, Ky. - Following a
perfect regular season, Midway's League of Legends Esports team remained blemish-free in the opening round of the NECC postseason.
The second-seeded Eagles defeated No. 7 Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) 2-0 in the first round of the NECC Division VII East Playoffs Tuesday.
Riley Ogden led Midway with 18 kills, while
Gabriel Plata had 14. Plata also added 21 assists for the match, with 16 of them coming in game two.
Two other Eagles also topped 20 assists.
Dylan Oditt led the way with 28 while
Cody Griffith added 24.
Midway is now 8-0 and is still yet to drop a game this season.
The Eagles get a week off before facing sixth-seeded Eastern University (Pa.) in the East Playoff semifinals on Nov. 19. Eastern advanced via a 2-0 win over third-seeded Centre (Ky.) Tuesday night.
