BRISTOL, Tenn. - Three Midway wrestlers placed in their weight classes at the King Open in Bristol, Tenn. Sunday, with
Abe Hafez earning a second-place finish at 165 pounds.
Hafez put together a 3-1 record, getting all the way to the finals before having to medically forfeit the match.
Kyler Adams and
David Emfinger had very busy days, each earning multiple wins and taking sixth in their weight class. Adams went 5-1 at 149 with Emfinger going 4-2 at 197.
Seven other Eagles went 2-2 on the day. Those wrestlers were
Kelton Bailey and
Zach Lewis at 125,
Anthony Caruso and
Alex Velazquez at 141,
Christopher Sperin at 149,
Sebastian Hutchinson at 174, and
Aaron Garcia at heavyweight.
The Eagles are back in action Dec. 6, traveling for an in-state dual against the University of Pikeville at 5 p.m.
