EATON, Ohio - Despite a disappointing 1-0 loss to Indiana East in the final game of the regular season, the Midway men's soccer team still had an eventful Saturday.
By virtue of St. Mary of the Woods' 2-0 loss to West Virginia Tech, the Eagles were able to clinch a spot in the six-team River States Conference Tournament.
The Eagles, who qualified for the postseason for a second-consecutive season, will be the No. 6 seed and open play on the road against third-seeded WVU Tech, the defending league champion.
The two teams played in monsoon conditions in Midway on Sept. 28, a game the Golden Bears won 4-0.
The opening round game is tentatively scheduled to begin in Beckley, W.V. at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
