Eagles drop tight women's swimming dual at Campbellsville

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Midway won four individual races and two relays in a tight, women's swimming battle with Campbellsville Friday, a dual the Tigers won 107-88.

Sammy Friel had the best showing for the Eagles, earning wins in both the 100-meter freestyle and the 100 individual medley. Friel won the 100 free in 1:04.94 and the 100 IM in 1:14.31.

Friel, Kaelynn Martin, Josie Briner and Amber Klose got the Eagles a pair of relay wins, swimming the 400 medley in 4:50.71 and the 200 free in 2:00.27.

Klose and Martin also got themselves victories in individual races, Klose winning the 50 free in 30.69, Martin the 100 back in 1:15.06, where she came in just ahead of runner-up teammate Madison Richey (1:17.12)

Other second-place finishes for Midway were earned by Martin in the 200 free (2:33.25) and Briner in the 100 butterfly (1:08.98).

The Eagles will be back in action in two weeks, when they travel to Danville, Ky. for the Speedo Mid-Season Invitational at Center College on Nov. 22-24.
