WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Gage Gregory earned a top-five finish against some of the best players in the NAIA to pace the Midway men's golf team at the two-day Rohrman Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday.
Gregory had the second-best score of any player in Tuesday's final round, securing a top-five finish and a spot on the all-tournament team, as the Eagles finished sixth with a three-round, 68-over-par score of 932
In a field featuring three ranked teams and two others receiving votes, Indiana Wesleyan won with a score of 900 (+36), five shots better than No. 9 Marian (Ind.).
Coming into Tuesday's final round in eighth place at five-over par, Gregory recorded aa one-under, 71 to climb four spots in the final standings. Only tournament runner-up Sam Dykema of Indiana Wesleyan (-4) had a better final round.
Gregory recorded three birdies Tuesday, doing so on the par-four 15th hole as well as the par-three second and 17th.
He was joined in the top-20 by Tristan Mitchell, who finished in a three-way tie for 19th at 235 (+19).
Elsewhere for Midway, Benjamin Spencer recorded a 238 (+22) to tie for 25th, while Jack Bedell tied for 33rd with a 243 (+27).
Midway is back at it just four days from now, when it takes part in the University of the Cumberlands Invitational in London, Ky. on Saturday and Sunday.
