LEXINGTON, Ky. - It was an uncharacteristically sloppy performance by the Midway men's golf team, which hosted the annual Eagle Invitational at the University of Kentucky Club on Monday and Tuesday.

The Eagles had both an A and B team compete, with the A unit tying for fifth with Truett McConnell (Ga.) in the 12-team field with a 59-over par score of 635. The B squad finished eighth with a 643 (+67).

Kentucky State came back from seven strokes down to force a tie with NAIA No. 7-ranked Marian (Ind.) at 593 (+17) and eventually earned the win on a playoff hole. Midway's River States Conference foes Indiana East (617, +41) and Indiana Kokomo (631, +55) were third and fourth respectively.

The Eagle B team produced the team's best performance, with Hunter Graham tying for seventh.

Graham shot a two-over par 74 on Monday and a five-over 77 Tuesday for a final tally of 151. He closed out the opening day in great fashion, recording birdies on six of the back-nine holes to shoot a three-under par 33.

One shot behind him in a tie for ninth was A-team competitor Eli Stamper, who birdied three holes on both the first and second days of competition.

Tristan Mitchell (A) and Gabe Cole (B) finished inside the top-25 as well. Mitchell shot an 11-over par at 155 for the tournament with Cole at a 13-over 157.

The Eagles will look to rebound in the final match of the regular season, when they travel to Johnson City for the Northeast Tennessee Spring Shootout, which will be hosted by Milligan on April 7.
