KOKOMO, Ind. -- The Midway women's soccer team opened a four-game road swing on Saturday when they traveled north for a River States Conference matchup against IU Kokomo (Ind.).
The Cougars scored a goal in each half and held the Eagles off the scoreboard en route to the 2-0 shutout victory.
Gia Tumber got IU Kokomo (6-4-3, 3-1-1 RSC) on the board in the 22nd minute and that 1-0 lead would stand until Kaiya Money doubled the lead after sprinting behind the Midway defense for a goal in the 56th minute.
The Eagles (4-5-1, 2-3 RSC) were outshot 22-6 overall, including 13-4 in shots on frame.
Annabel Young had two shots, while
Sloane Pollock,
Haylee Applegate, and
Anna Kneisley added one shot apiece.
The Eagles are set to return to action on Thursday, Oct. 16, when they travel to Owensboro, Ky. For an RSC matchup against Brescia (Ky.). Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET.
