OWENSBORO, Ky. - Despite some positive moments, it was a similar result for the Midway women's volleyball team on Friday, as the Eagles fell 25-14, 26-24, 25-15 against Brescia in River States Conference play.
The Eagles looked primed to win their first RSC set of the season in set two, jumping out to a 16-8 lead, then going up 23-18 on a
Kayedon Mattingly block.
The Bearcats answered with four straight points but the Eagles forced a set point on a kill by
Alyssa Medeiros.Â
But after a service error, Midway wouldn't score again in the set, as Brescia closed it out with consecutive kills by Kendyn Syfert and Cheaney Archer, then held a lead for the entirety of the final set.
Now 1-17 overall and 0-10 in the River States, Midway is back on the road Saturday against Oakland City at 2 p.m.
