PORTSMOUTH, Ohio - Midway had six of the top seven swimmers in a triangle meet against Shawnee State and Pikeville, with the Eagle women earning wins over the pair of Bear counterparts.
Midway defeated Shawnee State 127-88 and UPike 129-60 to run its record to 5-2 on the season.Â
Finishing second and third overall were
Sydney Eastman and
Pamela Ramires, who both won two races.
Eastman won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:33.61 and the 200 individual medley in 2:41.17. She was also runner-up as a part of both the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams.
Ramires got her wins in freestyle races, swimming the 200 in 2:22.19 and the 400 in 5:02.70.
Other individual winners for Midway were
Amber Klose in the 200 breaststroke (2:44.86),
Josie Briner in the 100 fly (1:16.90),
Dyllan Hebert in 200 backstroke (2:41.53) and
Elizabeth Dolberry in the 100 free (1:06.71).
The Eagles will look to keep rolling next Saturday when they host Asbury and West Virginia Tech in a triangle meet starting at 1 p.m.
