MIDWAY, Ky. - After sustaining a series of frustrating losses in recent weeks, the Midway men's soccer team got to take its frustration out on Kentucky Christian Thursday night.
Elijah Orren and
Lucas Perrotte both scored two goals and the Eagles held the Knights to just two shots in a 7-0 win at the Midway Turf Field.
Orren both began and ended the scoring as Midway had all of its goals in a 38:38 stretch between the first and second halves. The second and third goals came from Perrotte, who scored twice in just 4:53 in the first half.
Ben Banton gave Midway a 4-0 lead at halftime off a perfect pass, long-range from
Juan Caballero in the 42nd minute, then
Saleh Ekuchi added another brilliant assist on a
George Spencer goal just 23 seconds into the second half.
Ekuchi would add another assist in the 51st minute, setting up a goal by
Tomas Sarmiento.
The win snaps a four-game losing streak for the Eagles who are 3-7-1 with a 1-3 mark in the RSC.
Midway will take a break from conference play on Saturday, when it travels to Nashville to face Trevecca Nazarene at 3 p.m.
