MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway men's wrestling competed at a hyper-competitive Patriot Pepsi Open on Saturday, placing 29th overall with 16.5 points.
Two Eagle wrestlers earned multiple wins, with
Sebastian Hutchinson going 3-2 at 184 pounds and
Stephen Browning going 2-3 at 197.
Browning finished sixth in his division on the strength of a 2-0 start, which included a 13-10 win over Greyson Stevens of Cumberlands and a 6-2 win against Cornerstone's Jackson Turner.
Hutchinson overcame an opening-round loss with three-straight wins. He defeated Spencer Fields of Truett-McConnell 12-7 and Miloz Gargol of Montreat 3-0 before earning a forfeit against  Carter Falan of Cornerstone.
At the heavyweight division,
Anthony Popi got a 3-2 win over Braeden Buxton of Rio Grande while
Rowdy Benner topped Nathan Honhart of Southwestern Michigan at 133.
The Eagles are back home next Friday, hosting Cumberlands, the No. 8 team in the country, at 5 p.m.
