CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Midway jumped out to early leads before surrendering big third innings in both games of a doubleheader at Campbellsville Thursday.
The Tigers, who are receiving votes in the NAIA national poll, won the games 9-1 and 10-1.
GAME ONE: CAMPBELLSVILLE 9, MIDWAY 1
The Eagles were able to grab their first lead of the young season in the first inning, when
Madison Hill singled home
Ryann Berger, who herself had singled previously in the inning.
But Midway would muster just one hit the rest of the game, as the Tigers immediately pulled even in the bottom of the first, then pulled away with a six-run third inning.
GAME TWO: CAMPBELLSVILLE 10, MIDWAY 1
Kaydence Hamilton got Midway on the board in the top of the third, scoring on a pass ball, before Campbellsville answered by platting all 10 of its runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Four of those runs were driven in by Jessie Daniels, who had a three-run home run in the inning.
Midway falls to 0-6 and will look to get its first win of the year Saturday in a home doubleheader against Kentucky Christian on Saturday, with play beginning at 1 p.m.
