GEORGETOWN, Ky. - Midway men's volleyball came out swinging against No. 8 Georgetown College before ultimately falling in three sets, 25-17, 25-16, 25-16.
Midway came out with energy in the first set, tallying 16 kills and hitting .211 while pushing Georgetown to the brink. The Eagles held a late lead and even fought off set point four times before the Tigers eventually ended things on a Michael Bak kill.
The second set saw Midway struggle to find offensive rhythm, managing just four kills while Georgetown surged ahead with a .462 hitting percentage.
In the third, the Eagles fought to regain momentum, led by Braden Cacek (seven kills) and Jai'Den Chinnis (six kills). However, Georgetown's efficient attack (.615 hitting percentage) proved too much as the Tigers secured the match with another nine-point victory.
Jordan Daily paced the Eagles with 12 assists, while Lincoln Anderson anchored the defense with a team-high 11 digs. Midway totaled four service aces, including two from Daily.
The Eagles will head to Georgia for face Life University Tuesday at 5 p.m.
