OAKLAND CITY, Ind. - Midway men's volleyball battled but ultimately fell short against Oakland City on Tuesday evening, dropping a River States Conference match in straight sets 25-14, 25-19, 25-14 at the Johnson Center.
The Eagles started strong in the second set, putting up a fight with 19 points, but struggled to overcome Oakland City's efficient attack.
Jai'Den Chinnis led the team with seven kills and two blocks, while setter Jordan Daily contributed 17 assists and five digs.
Lincoln Anderson was a bright spot on defense, tallying a match-high 10 digs, while Jaden Alston added a service ace and three kills.
Midway's serving inconsistencies proved costly, as the team recorded eight service errors.
The Eagles (1-10, 0-6) will look to regroup as they search for their first RSC victory against Brescia (Ky.) Friday at 7 p.m.
